Project Summary
Former retail gas station site that Morgan successfully remediated. The challenge on this site was to overmanage proximity agreements and underground utilities present in the adjacent property and boulevard. Morgan worked closely with utility owners and property owner, to ensure all existing facilities and utilities could be kept operational during the project.
Project Scope
Excavated, transported, and disposed of 5,000 metric tons of soil contaminated by hydrocarbons from a commercial strip mall/gas station, at a depth of 5 meters
Installed vertical barrier liners and backfilled the excavated area with imported soil, compacting it in place
Removed and disposed of asphalt, concrete, concrete curbs, and trees from the excavation site
Installed a hydrocarbon-resistant synthetic liner
Replaced the surface sidewalk on city property as required
All businesses in the strip mall remained open during the project
Restored the parking area of the active strip mall with backfill and compaction
