Project Summary

As part of Mildred Lake operations reclamation scope Morgan has been trusted to remove and salvage all surface soils and subsoils in advance of mining operations for the 2021 and 2022 reclamation seasons. Reclamation salvage is critical to our client’s operations as the surface soils must be stockpiled and stored to be reused at the end of the mine life. Morgan has successfully and safely removed and salvaged over 7.5 million cubic meters of soil during these two seasons resulting in a long-standing partnership.

Project Scope

• Stripping and stacking of 1,700,000 m³ of peat/LFH

  • Load, haul and place 1,714,000 m³ of peat/LFH

  • 1,006,000 m³ to stockpile

  • 708,000 m³ to direct placement

• Load, haul and place 1,525,000 m³ of subsoil

  • 583,000 m³ to stockpile

  • 942,000 m³ to direct placement

• Construction and maintenance of temporary and permanent haul routes

• Preliminary freeze-in efforts to establish site access to deep muskeg areas
