Project Summary:
This project included site earthworks of CPF, 10 km of high grade road, five wellpads, the construction of pond, as well as camp and equipment laydown.
157ha of site clearing and grubbing
152 drilled and driven piles
Stripping of topsoil and subsoil to on-site stockpiles to the equivalent of 530,000m3
Supply and placement of roadway, wellpad and CPF gravels including sub base and base gravels
Supply and installation of drainage CSP culverts and ditch construction
Excavation and embankment construction for storm ponds including the supply and installation of clay liners
Excavation, gravel placement and drainage for tank foundations, including geotextiles
Completion of work, including GPS survey layout and machine grade control
Erosion Control including rock check dams, matting and installed manufactured ditch blocks
Replaced topsoil and seeding
Challenges and Achievements:
Successful RFP process including Construction execution, HSE Management & Quality Management Plans
Completed all project milestones prior to the required schedule by starting the project in January and completing a majority of the required fills in winter conditions while utilizing all best practices to ensure quality compacted fills that achieved the specification
Utilized GPS machine-controlled equipment to provide exceptionally accurate finished grade as work progressed. The survey budget was reduced by approximately 50%
Worked together with AOC through design modifications to maintain project budget
