Project Summary:

This project included site earthworks of CPF, 10 km of high grade road, five wellpads, the construction of pond, as well as camp and equipment laydown.

  • 157ha of site clearing and grubbing
  • 152 drilled and driven piles
  • Stripping of topsoil and subsoil to on-site stockpiles to the equivalent of 530,000m3
  • Supply and placement of roadway, wellpad and CPF gravels including sub base and base gravels
  • Supply and installation of drainage CSP culverts and ditch construction
  • Excavation and embankment construction for storm ponds including the supply and installation of clay liners
  • Excavation, gravel placement and drainage for tank foundations, including geotextiles
  • Completion of work, including GPS survey layout and machine grade control
  • Erosion Control including rock check dams, matting and installed manufactured ditch blocks
  • Replaced topsoil and seeding

Challenges and Achievements:

  • Successful RFP process including Construction execution, HSE Management & Quality Management Plans
  • Completed all project milestones prior to the required schedule by starting the project in January and completing a majority of the required fills in winter conditions while utilizing all best practices to ensure quality compacted fills that achieved the specification
  • Utilized GPS machine-controlled equipment to provide exceptionally accurate finished grade as work progressed. The survey budget was reduced by approximately 50%
  • Worked together with AOC through design modifications to maintain project budget
