Challenges and Achievements

  • The project presented high native soil moisture conditions requiring the implementation of a multifaceted approach to soil management through placement of high moisture soils in non-critical areas, mixing, drying and cold weather construction to achieve compaction specifications and maintain the schedule.
  • Morgan managed the very serious situation of a non compliant gravel supplier by giving every opportunity for them to meet specification before moving on to a 2nd compliant supplier without significant impact to the project.
  • All subcontractor management was completed by a closely monitored process that employed the provisions of the standard Morgan subcontract.
  • A demanding project schedule required 24 hour continuous shift operations with 75 pieces of equipment utilized
