SUMMARY : Under general supervision, the operator will be responsible for all types of work with clients, and worksite. The operator will ensure the equipment is being operated according to the safety standards, clients and by applicable laws. The equipment operators are expected to: work outside in all weather conditions, available to work 12 hours per day, demonstrate safe operation of assigned equipment, able to read, comprehend and comply with: site specific safety rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, warning tags, traffic signs and procedure manuals.
Actively supports safety culture by operating equipment and tools in a safe manner, follows Morgan’s Safe Work Procedures, follows Morgan’s PPE policies and practices and report all near misses and incidents to management in a timely fashion Understand the issues involving ground disturbance, lives sites and ability to work in and follow safe work practices and procedures and contribute to a safe work environment Responsible for equipment checks and informing mechanics of mechanical problems Have an understanding of issues involving ground disturbance and ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment Familiar with aspects of lease building, reclamation, road building, pad building and culvert installation Levelling prior to dumping and sets up properly for loading Willing to help ground personnel when required Has knowledge of when material has achieved compaction Cleans heavy equipment on a routine basis including removing personal belongings and trash from cab daily and maintaining good housekeeping Demonstrates good judgment and think problems through where applicable, and suggests improvements on job quality Interacts with internal and external customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner that contributes toward a positive and productive worksite. Proven experience with, technical specifications and grade plans, building roads, oilfield leases and pads is preferred Able to free dump in a safe manner if no other equipment is available Able to identify hazards on sites and complete JSA’s and hazard analysis Able to operate various sizes of Rock Trucks in a safe and efficient manner Able to spread materials, straddle wheel ruts and stock pile Worker must contend with noise and vibrations Ability to lift up to 25 Lbs. REQUIREMENTS
Experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator preferably in the heavy civil earthworks, construction or oilfield maintenance services industry is required CSTS, Standard First Aid- Level C CPR, H2S Alive, OSSA Orientation are required Must have valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract Please note as work arises this is a dual position, and labouring on site may be required
