HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
Based in our Acheson Office and under the direction of the Asset Maintenance Manager, this newly created Heavy Equipment Maintenance Coordinator role will act as a key support to the Maintenance Department.
• Ensure that documentation for rentals is complete at sign out and return phases and all repairs are properly communicated and assigned; • Ensure that the maintenance and repairs for equipment rented to clients is properly maintained, documented and filed; • Provide cost comparisons from multiple suppliers to determine the best options (eg welding repairs, scratching posts); • Assess long lead items such as undercarriages, CVIP’s, tank certifications and fire suppression certifications to ensure they are planned in advance; • Evaluate completing major repairs inhouse vs by a vendor to determine the most cost-effective alternative; • Lead investigations on tire failures on large haul units to determine cause of tire failure; • Administer and analyze oil sample reports; • Assist in planning and scheduling major repairs and ensure repairs costs are monitored in relation to the budget; • Assist in the development of procedures where required to support maintenance work; • Assist maintenance teams to notify the Equipment group when equipment has been repaired; • Plan and manage any routine or required inspections and repairs of the Acheson yard and shop; and • Assist in establishing and maintaining KPI’s associated with maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Excellent organizational skills; • Promote positive relationships and a can-do team approach; • Detail and results oriented with the ability to multi task, adhere to deadlines, and thrive in high pressure environments.
• Experience in Civil Construction and/or heavy equipment will be considered an asset; • Intermediate level of Mircrosoft Office products with specific strengths in Excel and Outlook.
